Stihl 028 Chainsaw

The standard (not super) 041 was 61cc and came out in the mid 1960s. At that time it was one of the finest saws available and it, along with the 031 are the saws that made Stihl what they are today. I picked up a used Stihl (70/80's) Farm Boss 041 Chainsaw. Looks very clean for older one but.fires up and only can keep running about 30 sec. It evebtually loads up with gas and dies! The power head is largely constructed from metal alloy so the 028 is a good few pounds heavier than an equivalent modern saw. It might be a little overweight by modern standards but at 12.6 lbs the 028 is still light enough for anyone to use easily.

Be aware that saws purchased before 1986 are not covered by the Stihl lifetime warranty on ignition parts that Stihl operated from 1986 until 2003.
